The 7th Africa Youth in Tourism Summit (AYTIS) 2025 to Take Center Stage in Nairobi

Johannesburg, Thursday, 19 December 2024
Africa Tourism Partners, UN Tourism, AfCFTA, and BDO South Africa, in collaboration with TEAMS Africa, are proud to announce that the highly anticipated Africa Youth in Tourism Summit (AYTIS) 2025 will be hosted in Nairobi, Kenya, from June 10 to 13, 2025. This landmark event will showcase Kenya’s vibrant diversity, stunning landscapes, and growing portfolio of unique experiences, going beyond the traditional “African safari” narrative. From the bustling energy of Nairobi to the coastal cradle of Swahili culture, AYTIS 2025 promises to unveil a Kenya that is as surprising as it is inspiring.

Why Kenya?

Beyond Safaris and Sunsets
While Kenya is world-renowned for its iconic wildlife and pristine beaches, AYTIS 2025 will highlight its broader appeal. Attendees can venture inland to hike extinct volcanoes like Mt. Longonot, challenge themselves on the slopes of Elephant Hill, or bask in the serenity of Ngong Hills, just outside Nairobi. For those seeking a more urban escape, Karura Forest, one of the world’s largest urban forests, offers tranquillity in the heart of the city. The truly adventurous can even aim to conquer the majestic Mt. Kenya, Africa’s second-highest peak.

Sports, Adventure, and Culture
Kenya offers an unparalleled range of activities for all interests. Train alongside elite athletes in Iten, dive into deep-sea fishing, or explore extensive cycling routes. Cultural enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the traditions of Kenya’s 42 tribes, while nightlife lovers can discover vibrant urban hotspots. Kenya’s tourism ecosystem is built on a legacy of innovation, combining modernity with rich cultural heritage.

What to Expect at AYTIS 2025

AYTIS 2025 will bring together 400 trailblazing entrepreneurs, senior industry executives, and government officials to network, exchange ideas, and redefine the future of African tourism. This Pan-African Community of Innovators is not just about Kenya—it’s about strengthening intra-African travel, fostering cross-border collaborations, and nurturing entrepreneurial growth that will shape Africa’s tourism landscape for generations to come.

Håvar Bauck, co-host of AYTIS and a key partner at TEAMS Africa, emphasizes Kenya’s unique position:
“Kenya is one of Africa’s premier tourist destinations, offering a blend of modernity, natural wonders, and cultural depth. With advanced infrastructure, vibrant cities, and cutting-edge technologies, Kenya provides a diverse and contemporary visitor experience. Beyond its world-class wildlife and beaches, Kenya’s thriving adventure tourism, Swahili history, coastal attractions, and exceptional food scene ensure that every AYTIS participant will find something extraordinary, regardless of budget. This isn’t just a conference—it’s a showcase of the best Kenya has to offer.”
