On Sunday, November 10, 2024, Mark and Millie Slade, alongside their dedicated team, friends, and associates, celebrated the 5th anniversary of JARA Beach Resort in a spectacular fashion. Located in the picturesque city of Lagos, Nigeria, the resort provides a unique getaway for both day visitors and overnight guests, featuring a pristine beachfront, modern facilities, and exceptional services. The event was a fun-filled affair that left guests in awe, with the Inside Watch Africa (IWA) magazine team on the ground to cover the celebration.
A Day of Fun and Celebration
The anniversary festivities kicked off with welcome drinks and a delicious BBQ lunch. Guests were then treated to a stunning beachwear fashion show, exciting games, and a mesmerizing performance by a local traditional dance troupe. The atmosphere was electric, with DJ Venum spinning tracks throughout the day. And, of course, no anniversary celebration would be complete without a beautifully crafted cake!
Children’s Recycled Art Competition
A highlight of the event was the judging of Jara Beach Resort’s inaugural Children’s Recycled Art Competition, which welcomed participants aged 5 to 12 from five Lagos-based schools. This competition emphasized the vital importance of protecting our oceans. A distinguished panel of guest judges included:

Selected winners received exciting prizes, including day and overnight stays at the resort. Following the overwhelming success of this competition, Jara Beach Resort plans to make it an annual event.
