Comptroller A. G. Bello is now the new Customs Area Controller of Kwara Area Command. Comptroller Bello who was transferred from Zone A Headquarters, Lagos took over the mantle of leadership of the Command from the Comptroller. H. B. Ahmed was redeployed to Zone D Headquarters, Bauchi in the recent deployment exercise of Comptrollers in the Nigeria Customs Service.

In his farewell address, at a brief handing over ceremony held on Thursday,18th August 2022 at the Command Headquarters, Ilorin, Kwara State, the out-going Area Controller, Comptroller Ahmed thanked the Comptroller General of Customs, Colonel Hameed Ali (Rtd) and his management team for the opportunity given to him to have served as Area Controller of the Command for the period he did. He then urged the officers and men of the command to accord the incoming Controller their maximum support to allow him effectively discharge his responsibilities as the Area Controller. He also prayed for God’s guidance and intervention for a successful tenure for Comptroller Bello.
In his response, the new Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Bello said that as a matter of priority, he intended to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor. According to him, all hands should be on the deck to collect maximum revenue and suppress smuggling activities to the barest minimum in the Command.
He urged all officers to imbibe the culture of transparency and professionalism while discharging their responsibilities and also warned that any anti-customs activities from or by any officer or men will not be tolerated.
The Area Controller congratulated and commended the outgoing CAC for taking the Command to an enviable height of Revenue generation and anti-smuggling activities. He reiterated his resolve to work assiduously towards consolidating the feat attained by his predecessor, and disclosed that with the ongoing border drill exercise going on at the border of the area command, the task of effectively securing the border remains on his utmost priority list. He concluded his address by soliciting the maximum support and cooperation of the officers and men of the Command to effectively manage the affairs of the Command towards suppression of smuggling and other trans-border crimes
